What is a Bachelor of Vocation?
“Skill-based education should be the foundation of modern education”, with a similar view, the University Grants Commission (UGC), in 2013, introduced Bachelor of Vocation, commonly known as B.Voc degree programme with multiple entry and exit points. B.Voc is a three-year programme which specifically focuses on skill development and makes the students industry-ready. Today, there are more than 100 disciplines/trades for which the B.Voc degree courses are available. Some of the most popular courses include B.Voc in Retail Marketing, Food Processing, Healthcare, Technology, Renewable Energy.
B.Voc Eligibility
For studying B.Voc, the candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognized board or institution with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent marks.
However, the universities may also prescribe some additional eligibility criteria which the candidates must fulfil before applying for the admission.
