BTech in Biologically Inspired System Science


BTech in Biologically Inspired System Science is a unique course which involves an in-depth understanding of living organisms to develop and design innovative and adaptive strategies. It incorporates training and knowledge of different fields of Biological Sciences and other areas into the Engineering domain. This emerging course aims to improve both human health and planet health.

It is an undergraduate course for 4 years which is available across different institutions in India as well as abroad. The eligibility criteria for Indian Institutions requires the student to pursue 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, as compulsory subjects. The admissions for this course takes place on the basis of entrance tests (JEE-mains) or direct admissions through institutional entrances in cases of Indian admissions.

Indian Institution of Technology, Jodhpur highlights the importance of this course and how it provides students with basics of Biology and specialized study in one of the three engineering disciplines namely, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. The program incorporates concepts of basic biology, advanced neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, computational biology and environmental science into one platform. This course provides good exposure to students who are inclined towards Biological Engineering.
