Ireland- Country option for study abroad

Ireland has progressively emerged as a desirable study destination for Indian students. It is a nation that has traditionally excelled at changing direction when confronted by challenges.

Ireland is a leader when it comes to the ‘employability rate’ for graduates, both Irish and international compared to other countries. The Irish higher education system is very closely aligned to the skills needs of industry, so graduates in Ireland are renowned for being very much ‘employment ready’. The fact that Ireland produces highly skilled graduates, coupled with the country’s geographic location, as a stepping stone between Europe and the US means that a significant number of multinational corporations operate their Europe headquarters out of Ireland. This creates a very strong ‘post-study work’ ecosystem for graduates in Ireland.

Post Study Work rights

Stamp 1G indicates you have finished your studies in Ireland and have permission to look for employment there.
Stamp 1G is granted for 12 months only, except for those who have completed a master’s degree programme, when a further 12 months can be provided subject to conditions.
You can work full time in accordance with employment law requirements, but you are not permitted to operate a business or be self-employed. If you wish to continue working after Stamp 1G expires, you must find a job that requires an employment permit and then follow the usual application process with Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment.
Part time opportunities

International students who are enrolled in a course that lasts a year or more currently do not require a specific work permit to find part-time jobs in Ireland. The student visas granted are separated into two separate categories: Stamp 2 – Allowed to work part-time Stamp 2A – Not allowed to work-part time
